HA1 Infill House

This backland infill project delivers a contemporary single dwelling on a constrained rear plot behind Lower Clapton Road in Hackney. Designed within an established urban setting, the house is carefully composed to balance privacy, daylight and neighbourly amenity while creating a calm, high-quality home. A robust brick façade with subtle banding gives the building a strong architectural identity, while the set-back upper storey reduces perceived mass within the surrounding context. The layout is organised around a private courtyard that brings light deep into the plan and strengthens the relationship between indoor and outdoor space in a compact city setting.
